The Hearthside is six small transferware dishes in the Johnson Brothers Merry Christmas pattern: a lit fireplace with a wreath and candles on the mantel, a decorated tree beside it, and wrapped presents on the floor, printed in green with the candles, ribbons, and ornaments colored in. Ironstone, backstamped Johnson Bros Made in England with the crown mark. Slightly dished, so they work as butter pats, coasters, or little dishes for a cookie by the bed. All six are clean, no chips or cracks, color still strong.
