Before molded candles, this is how you kept the flame going — and how you carried it room to room without spilling wax on your hands. A brass hogscraper-style chamberstick with a working push-up mechanism (the little knob slides the candle upward as it burns) and its original cone snuffer, hooked on the side just where it should be.
