The Six-20 crossed an ocean before she made it to a Michigan shelf. Built by Kodak’s London works between 1946 and 1953, she’s the plain-faced English cousin of the American Brownies — matte black enamel, gold pinstriping, and a shutter lever on the side that still clicks the way it did when film came in paper-wrapped rolls.
She’s worn her years honestly: some cracking on the leather handle, a touch of surface rust on the latch. But open her up and the original circular Kodak film sticker still perfectly intact, and the shutter fires every time. She shot big 6x9 negatives on 620 film — postcard-sized memories, six to a roll.
