The October Pair — Vintage Pumpkin Shakers

The October Pair are pumpkins the way pumpkins actually grow — one tall and reaching, one short and round, because no patch ever made two alike. Glossy orange with ribbed sides, twisted brown stems, and a little green leaf each, from the eighties wave of autumn tableware that took its pumpkins seriously.

And they have provenance: they came from the same estate sale as our salt-and-pepper collection that went a little famous on the internet this summer — the collector whose shakers 93,000 people watched us unpack. These two are from her fall shelf.
