The Gobbler is a whole tom turkey woven out of wicker — red wattle under his beak, tail feathers looped high, chestnut-stained and built over a wire frame sometime in the late seventies, when country farmhouse style put an animal basket on every American table. Most of his kind got listed as ducks over the years; the wattle says otherwise, and he'd like that settled.
Fill him with mini pumpkins, bittersweet, or the Thanksgiving napkins, and let him run the centerpiece through November.
