Some things exist purely to make a desk happier. The Dashwood is a mid-century ceramic dachshund letter holder — glossy chestnut head and tail bookending a metal coil spine made for slipping envelopes, notes, and recipes between the rings. These little fellows were the pride of 1950s desks, made by California art potteries and Japanese ceramics studios during the golden age of office kitsch, and his job hasn't changed a bit: hold the mail, look delightful.
Circa 1950s–1960s. Approx. 10" long. An old crack has been glued and he stands sound and sturdy; shown in photos. Spring evenly spaced with good tension.
