Loretta stands right beside Dolly in the shop this week, the way the two of them stood beside each other for fifty years. Dark, steady, a little formal, and completely unbothered — she carries her weight the way her namesake carried a room.
She's a Restoration Hardware nightstand, 2015, in a deep espresso finish: one long drawer with a carved lattice front and turned rosette pulls, an open cubby below with room for a stack of books or a good basket, fluted corners, turned legs. We cleaned and touched her up and otherwise left her exactly as RH made her.
