Dolly is named for the woman we lost this week — country through and through, warm as a kitchen in November, and built to hold a household together. Some pieces earn a name like that; this cupboard, over a century old, is one of them.
She's an early-1900s farmhouse cupboard with cane-paneled doors — four of them, plus two drawers — the kind of piece built when pantries breathed. We restored her honestly: new cane in every panel, a fresh hand-rubbed stain, all of her original bones. She'll hold linens, pantry goods, records, or the whole top of a mudroom's worth of life.
